LOAD
The demand is the electricity requirement that must be met by the national electricity system. Demand’s trend is variable across the day, month and year. In this section we consider the total consumption perimeter, that of the electricity market and the maximum and minimum values.

Info about the data
Trend of the Italian electricity system’s total demand. The forecast data are processed the day before the reference day based on our best forecast, taking into account all the variables that could influence the electricity demand, from weather and climate factors to social-economic aspects.
The provisional data is based on Terna’s measurements and estimates and are subject to continuous change. The consolidated data are only to considered definitive after the publication of the “Statistical data on electricity in Italy” annual report (updates to data after the publication of the annual statistics may require several weeks to be processed). Here available data over the last five years period, besides the ones from the running year.
Numerical data are always presented in English format (the full stop is used to separate decimals, comma to separate thousands).
Info about the data
Trend of the Italian demand in reference to the so-called “market perimeter”. This data, including grid losses, represents the energy input to the exchange points by the production units that fall within the electricity market.
